A Weekend of Family, Tradition & Celebration at Chateau Chailly
Anna & Liam
Some weddings are remembered for the details. Others are remembered for the people who filled every moment with life. Anna and Liam’s wedding at Château de Chailly was the perfect blend of heartfelt traditions, unforgettable surprises and one incredible weekend spent celebrating with everyone they love.

Their Story
Anna and Liam’s story began in the UK more than seven years ago. Today, they call Dubai home, but when it came to choosing where they would get married, they wanted somewhere that meant something beyond beautiful scenery.
Their families had spent time in a small village over the years and remembered the château sitting peacefully among the Burgundy countryside. Returning there with their closest family and friends felt like the perfect way to bring everyone together for an entire wedding weekend.
From the very first evening, the celebrations had a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. A food truck gathering on Thursday gave guests time to reconnect before the wedding day arrived, while the pool party the following day allowed everyone to soak up the sunshine and continue celebrating long after the vows had been exchanged.
Friday afternoon began with an emotional ceremony filled with personal touches. Anna's brother, Doug, officiated the ceremony himself, creating heartfelt moments, laughter and everyone singing together. Family remained at the heart of the ceremony, with both brothers sharing readings that made every word feel deeply personal.
As the newlyweds walked back down the aisle, Liam’s military background became part of the celebration as four of his friends formed a traditional Guard of Honour beneath raised swords during the confetti exit — a moment that blended military tradition and the joy of a wedding celebration.
The day continued throughout the afternoon in the château courtyard, where guests enjoyed champagne, cocktails and live saxophone music overlooking the beautiful grounds. Before the festivities truly began, Anna shared a few heartfelt words herself, about her friends, mum, dad, siblings and husband... creating one of those moments that often become lifelong memories.
As night fell, another military tradition took centre stage when Anna and Liam cut their cake with a ceremonial sword beneath sparkling lights. It wasn’t about an extravagant cake—it was about honoring Liam’s story while creating a moment every guest would remember.
Surrounded by sparklers and the people who had travelled from around the world to celebrate with them, they stepped onto the dance floor to begin the next chapter of their lives together as mr and mrs Griffin.
